Iskwelahang Pilipino

A non for profit Filipino community based in Bedford, MA that helps Filipino families learn about their Filipino Heritage.

Iskwelahang Pilipino reached out to me and asked if I could revise and redesign their logo so that they can use it as their new logo identity. Being an alumnus of the program since 2016, I was more than happy to work with them as they have helped me be connected to my culture while I was growing up in the United States.

First week of ideation and I created variations of the logo with varying text to try and match the client's needs. I also revised their logo to be more up-to-date, in comparison to the very pixelated one that they had provided.

Comparison of the old logo and the new logo I created. They wanted to keep the flag iconography as the main piece and just wanted a high res version of it. I was more interested in working with typography. Iskwelahang Pilipino has a rich history of 46 years and, from my experience in this community, they've always had this homegrown roots feel and are very close-knit. Everyone knows everyone and they keep in touch with each other. So, I wanted to have the same feeling with the typography with the visible brushstrokes.

Not only did I create a circular logo, I also made a landscape version for the potential chance that they want to make a banner or something of wider nature.

Finally, I created collateral for Iskwelahang Pilipino to give them examples of their new logo in action with banners, hats, and stationery.
